CHARLES HERBERT PFORDTEN

Before I continue with this, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my new found friend, Mr Jeff Pickerd whom I 'met' at AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HORSE ASSOCIATION FORUM and he has been providing me with a lots of information pertaining to CHARLES HERBERT PFORDTEN.

CHARLES HERBERT PFORDTEN is son of FREDERICK GEORGE von der PFORDTEN and also the younger brother to my late grand father, ARTHUR REGINALD PFORDTREN. He was born in 1888 in Java, Indonesia.

He joined the Autralian Imperial Force on December 15, 1914 at the age of 26. He joined as a Trooper bearing Regtl No 460. He was with the "C" Squadron, 10th Light Horse Regiment.



He was wounded at Walkers Ridge Gallipoli on 10/07/1915 during the 1st World War. He died of cholera on August 12, 1916 while he was still in service.



He was buried at the Jerusalem War Memorial. He was arwarded the ANZAC Commemoration Medal for his service with the army.
